Amanda Blose is a dedicated and accomplished development practitioner, serving as a Co-Founder of the Grandmothers Movement of South Africa (GMISA) and a skilled Project Coordinator with over 13 years of experience in the non-profit and community development sector in South Africa. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to social justice, community empowerment, and sustainable development, particularly among vulnerable and underserved populations. She holds a Degree in Child and Youth Development, where she developed a strong academic foundation in community empowerment, youth justice, and applied social development. Complementing her academic background, Ms. Blose has pursued extensive professional training, including Monitoring and Evaluation through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), POPI Act Compliance, Administration and Management, Grief Work, HIV and AIDS Testing and Counselling, Investment in Excellence Education through the Pacific Institute, and Gender-Based Violence Prevention. Ms. Blose brings a wealth of experience in community mobilisation, advocacy, and multi-stakeholder engagement. She has worked closely with civil society organisations, community leaders, and government institutions to improve access to healthcare, social services, and essential support systems. Her ability to build strong relationships across diverse groups has been instrumental in driving impactful, community-led initiatives. Through her leadership and involvement with GMISA, she actively contributes to strengthening platforms that uplift the voices of grandmothers and caregivers—recognising their critical role in sustaining families and building resilient communities.
